San Miguel de Salinas - St. Michael of the Salt Lakes

Held at the end of September, the annual fiesta in the village of San Miguel de Salinas is held in honour of St. Michael the Archangel, patron saint of San Miguel.

The celebrations last for two weeks during which time there are many events held including street parties, bicycle races, a horse exhibition, the crowning of the fiesta queen and her maids of honour and the cooking of a giant paella. All events are designed to bring the community together and the climax of the fiesta is an open air concert and fireworks in the town square.
