Lost or Stolen Passports
If you have lost your British passport or have had it stolen, you must first
report this to the local police and obtain a police report. When you apply to replace the passport, you must submit
the C1 application form or C2 application form , the LSO1 form , and the police report. Ensure that the form is
then countersigned by a person of suitable standing. You should also include any evidence of identity you may have,
preferably photo ID.
A new British passport can only be issued after extensive checks have been
carried out to verify the issue details and the holder’s identity. We cannot, therefore, guarantee that a passport
issued in replacement of a lost and stolen passport will be completed within the standard ten working days
processing time. If you need to travel home immediately, you may obtain an Emergency Passport, valid for a one-way
trip only, from the nearest British Consulate. To do this you will need to fill in one LSO1 form , available from
all Consulates, C1 application form or C2 application form , and take with you a Police report (denuncia) and two
passport size photographs. If you have any other form of photographic identity, you should also take that. When you
receive your passport it is always a good idea to note down or make a photocopy of the passport details and save
them somewhere safe just in case it is lost or stolen.

You may want to register your phone, free of
charge, on a national database at www.immobilise.com. You can use the website to report the loss or theft of your
phone. The police can also use the database to return it to you if it is later
recovered.
